The Biosphere Certification Mark recognises exemplars in local sustainable enterprise. The Certification Mark logo provides assurance to customers and guests that their spend is sustainable: that it will be reinvested in the local community and economy, and that it will support positive environmental practice.
Galloway Food Hub is a producer led online farmer's marketplace selling only sustainable, climate and nature friendly food. It enables local communities to access high quality produce directly from farmers and food producer in Dumfries and Galloway.
Eat SW Scotland is Dumfries and Galloway's Regional Food Group. The group represents the interests of food businesses across the region, and aims to support collaboration, education, skills and training, and business startup and innovation. Eat SW Scotland updates and maintains the D&G Food and Drink website, mapping and promoting food businesses across the region.
Dumfries and Galloway has a huge number of Farmers and Producer Markets in many towns and villages. They are a great way to discover and enjoy a wealth of delicious local food and drink from producers and makers living and working in Dumfries & Galloway.
Dumfries and Galloway has many local Food Festivals such as the long running Stranraer Oyster Festival, the regular Glenkens Food Month, and the newer Dumfries International Street Food Festival.
More are emerging such as the South Machars Food Festival. These events celebrate and support local food businesses and the wider food economy.
